Pamela L. Zeitlin, M.D., Ph.D. 
I am Dr. Pamela Zeitlin and I am a Professor of Pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins Childrens Center at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
My research is directed at a disease called Cystic Fibrosis. My primary NIH grant is looking at an alternative gene as a treatment target for the disease CF.
This stimulus money is very specifically focused on basic research in the laboratory, but it is translated very quickly in my research group to clinical trials. So we are much closer to a clinical trial with an investigational molecule directed at this alternative channel than we were without the stimulus funding. So I am hoping to accelerate the pace of finding a clinical treatment for CF.
